Southern Germany flying into Zurich.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
These are from yesterday afternoon. We spent the night in Amsterdam last night. Flew to Zurich, Switzerland and Helsinki, Finland. Many more pics to come
For those that want to track where I’m flying in Europe, I’ll be flying N630QS. This to FlightAware should work. If not, search N630QS
We did a fishing trip in Frenchman’s Bay during our visit to Bar Harbor. These are some pics from that trip
We made it to or traveled through a portion of Virginia, Maryland, New York (upstate and NYCish area), Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts Connecticut, New Jersey, and Delaware. The only state in the Northeast we did not get to was Rhode Island.
We made it safely back to North Carolina. It was an amazing two weeks. I’ll post some (probably a lot) more pics in the next day or so.
Even with as much I’ve flown in the Northeast, I never knew Maple Cream was something that existed prior to this road trip. It is absolutely delicious
Limlaw Family Maple Farm
We stopped at Limlaw Family Maple Farm in West Topsham, Vermont during our drive. We called ahead and Bruce & Ruth Limlaw were kind enough to open up for us and give us a tour.
On average, they tap 30,000 maple trees (no that’s not a typo) every year for sugaring season. They have to tap each tree in a different spot every season. Each tree will produce 10-20 gallons of sap, and it takes an average of 40 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup. Bruce said last sugaring season it was closer to 70 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.
Bruce said the straight sap is almost like water in taste. They use reverse osmosis to increase the sugar content of the sap which reduces the boiling time to create syrup.
After the reverse osmosis process is finished and they have a large amount of concentrated sap, they use a large gas fired arch to boil the sap down to syrup.
It was a learning experience for all us. We enjoyed our visit and of course we purchased some maple syrup.
Our view for the next few days in Maine. NC to Buffalo, NY Sunday night. Buffalo to Plattsburgh, NY on Tuesday. Plattsburgh, NY to Augusta, Maine yesterday. Augusta to Winter Harbor/Bar Harbor Maine via coastal Maine today.
As if that isn’t even traveling, I’ll be flying in Europe for 11 days the end of this month into July. 1 day of travel to and from Europe on each end, which means 8-9 days of flying in Europe. I have no idea where, which makes it even more exciting
Be prepared for lots of travel pics over the next few weeks. We leave this weekend for a 2 week road trip in New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and 5 nights in Bar Harbor, Maine. Driving back through Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
Submitted my email volunteering to fly in Europe for a few days this summer. Should find out in a couple of weeks if they accept.
Very crappy airborne picture of the SpaceX Axiom-1 launch today, though we had a much view of the launch. We saw the main engine ignition flash through the haze and saw the Falcon9 rocket climbing shortly thereafter.

We had a short overnight in Cabo, flew to Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday and flew people back down to Cabo San Lucas. We were supposed to fly to Houston but ran out of duty time waiting for fuel so we spent the night in Cabo. Gorgeous Morning this morning.
This isn’t the best picture but here is an aerial view of Central Park from a few days ago. We departed Newark, NJ and were headed to Montreal.
I’ve been to Las Vegas quite a few times but always had short overnight stays. Yesterday was the first time I had the opportunity to walk The Strip and I watched the Fountains of Bellagio a couple of times.

I’m watching Apollo 11 by Todd Douglas Miller again and I’m still as blown away by the clarity of the footage and the amazing job they did converting it to digital as I was when I first watched it in 2019. I would love to see it in IMAX. 🍿
I was reading a couple of emails from work this morning when I realized my 1 yr old had gotten very quiet, which typically means he is into some sort of mischief. I went to investigate and found him sleeping on Aspen, our 70 pound Golden-doodle.

Just installed the Bookshelves plugin and see this error on my Design Settings page and in Logs. I’ve got the Tufte plug-in instslled. I’ve deleted the bookshelves plugin for now cuz i was getting the same error when trying to post. @help
